Organic and Wildcrafted Essential Oils

Introducing our special range of organic and wild-grown essential oils.

Selected and bottled specifically for use in therapeutic aromatherapy.

These essential oils listed on this page are genuine therapeutic-grade essential oils, grown on organic farms, or ethically and sustainably gathered from wild plants. These oils are processed in small distilleries, in small batches, by artisan distillers who are dedicated to producing only top-quality genuine aromatherapy therapeutic-grade essential oils, specifically for use by aromatherapists and other holistic health-care practitioners.

Most of the essential oils on general sale world-wide are what could be termed “industrial grade” oils, processed in bulk in large industrial-style plants, to specifications to suit the food-flavoring and perfume industries, and by no stretch of the imagination could these oils be called “therapeutic”.  This is especially true of essential oils at the cheaper end of the price range. You will not find any of these type of oils here.

All of the essential oils on this page are listed, with prices, country of origin, and growing method (organic, etc) on our pdf file price list which can be viewed or downloaded at this link:    Essential Oil Price List

If you are a practitioner who uses essential oils professionally, please contact us and ask for our Essential Oils Practitioners Price List, which lists our practitioner's prices and also has details of some “practitioner-only” essential oils which are not listed on this page.

This oil has a unique composition, being blue colored, and like most blue colored oils it has very strong anti-inflammatory properties. There is another chemotype of myrtle oil, the cineole chemotype (sometimes called “red myrtle”), but this oil of ours is the more gentle and mild linalool chemotype, which is sometimes referred to as the “green” type.
Our myrtle oil is wildcrafted, from Morocco, steam distilled from the leaves and twigs, 100 percent strength.  $22 per 10ml bottle.

Neroli (Orange Blossom)     Citrus aurantium
A Neroli blossom Everybody loves the fragrance of Neroli essential oil, and this organic neroli from Italy is exceptionally lovely, with a clean, clear note, and absolutely no “muddy” component. This oil makes an awesome perfume, a drop or two on the wrists and throat, straight from the bottle, is absolutely divine, never mind its therapeutic uses, it is worth having a bottle just for the sheer pleasure! Concerning Neroli's therapeutic properties, these include as an antidepressant (how anyone who could remain depressed after smelling this oil, would baffle me!) and it also has digestive calming properties, promotes skin healing, balances the nervous system, and is (surprise!) a deodorant. Note that this Neroli oil of ours is a 5 percent dilution in organic jojoba oil, and at this strength it has a nice strong fragrance. Many of the other Neroli oils offered for sale are only 3 percent, or 2.5 percent, so always check what strength you are getting when comparing prices.
Our neroli oil is organic, from Tunisia, steam distilled from the flowers of the orange blossom, 5 percent in organic jojoba oil$22 per 10ml bottle.

Nerolina     Melaleuca quinquenervia, ct nerolidol/linalool
Nerolina leaves Nerolina essential oil is distilled from the same species as the better-known Niaouli oil, but a different chemotype, being high in nerolidol and linalool and very low in cineole. It is one of the most pleasant smelling of all the melaleuca family, with an almost “fruity” aroma, according to Mark Webb. Nerolidol is sometimes referred to as “the linalool of the sesquiterpines”, and it is also known to be very readily absorbed through the skin, so this oil is sometimes used as a “dermal uptake enhancer”. Nerolina oil is said to have properties that include anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, digestive tonic, and for the treatment of burns. It is also said to be an adrenal tonic, and can be used in combination with spruce oil in an adrenal boost blend, applied every day to the area above the kidneys. Its scent is calming, soothing and uplifting.
Our Nerolina oil is organic, from Australia, steam distilled from the leaves and twigs, 100 percent strength.  $20 per 10ml bottle.

Niaouli     Melaleuca quinquenervia, ct cineole
Niaouli leaves Niaouli essential oil is one of the oils from the general family that tea tree belongs to. It is higher in cineole than tea tree, and lower in terpinen-4-ol, so its properties could almost be described as being intermediate between tea tree and eucalyptus. This oil is strongly antiseptic, and also has expectorant properties, so is often used in steam inhalations for respiratory tract infections. It is also recommended for use in cleaning wounds and burns, and as it also has analgesic and antirheumatic properties, it is sometimes used in the relief of joint pain and muscle aches and pains. Niaouli essential oil is mild on the skin and considered to be safe to apply to the skin at 100 percent strength. See also Nerolina oil above, for the other chemotype from this species, and note that a third chemotype has been identified, the viridifloral chemotype, but this is not commercially available as an oil yet.
Our Niaouli oil is wildcrafted, from Madagascar, steam distilled from the leaves and twigs, 100 percent strength.  $16 per 10ml bottle.

Nutmeg, Extra     Myristica fragrans
Dried nutmegs Nutmeg essential oil is another one of those spice oils grown in the tropics, and as such it has a strong spicy fragrance, and its therapeutic properties include a strong affinity with the digestive system, including as a digestive stimulant, for nausea, and to help with the assimilation of food. It also has antiseptic and analgesic properties, is sometimes used for treating muscular aches and pains, and joint pains, where its warming action helps bring relief. Nutmeg essential oil is also classed as a nervous stimulant and tonic, and it is safe to use in the skin, unlike some other spice type oils.
Our nutmeg oil is wildcrafted, from Indonesia, steam distilled from the dried nutmegs, 100 percent strength.  $19 per 10ml bottle.

Orange, Sweet     Citrus sinensis
Orange fruit on the tree Orange essential oil is a lovely, nurturing oil, very suitable for use on children, for whom it will help ease tummy upsets and insomnia. It is mildly sedative, but also antidepressant, and is often used in the treatment of anxiety and nervousness. Like most citrus oils, it also has a strong action on the digestive system, and is used for easing spasms and cramps. Sweet orange essential oil is also often used in skin-care, and is considered to be good for aging, dry, or rough skin, and also for acne. Like most of the citrus oils, it is very mild and safe to use on the skin at any strength.
Our Orange is organic, from the USA, cold pressed from the skin of the fruit, 100 percent strength.  $14 per 10ml bottle.

Wild Orange     Citrus sinensis
Wild Orange fruit on the tree Wild Orange essential oil has the same therapeutic properties as the cultivated Sweet Orange described above, however, its main distinguishing feature is its amazingly strong fragrance. If you like the odor of strong, fresh, stimulating orange, then you will love this wild orange essential oil! A couple of drops in the vapourizer, and wow! As soon as you walk into the room, it hits you, “Yum!” This is one of my favorite oils, I burn it in my vapourizer all day long, and I also use it in steam inhalations, to give myself a real boost, and in footbaths and the bath, to add some real “zing”!
Our wild orange is wildcrafted, from the Dominican Republic, cold pressed from the skin of the fruit, 100 percent strength.  $14 per 10ml bottle.

Palmarosa     Cymbopogon martini
Dried nutmegs Palmarosa essential oil is distilled from a grass that grows wild in northern India and Nepal, and it has a distinctive, sweet, pleasant smell. It is used as a tonic and balancer for the nervous system, for stress and anxiety, and is also a digestive stimulant and tonic. Palmarosa essential oil also has fairly strong antiseptic and antibacterial properties, due to its main constituent, geraniol (70 to 80 percent), and is therefore a good addition to any blend for treating infectious illnesses. I use it a lot in steam inhalations, for its microbe killing properties, with the bonus that it also balances the nervous system and is very mild on the lungs. It is also used a lot in skin-care, where it is suitable for all skin types, has hydrating properties, and helps balance the natural oils (the sebum) of the skin. It is safe to use on the skin in any concentration.
Our palmarosa oil is wildcrafted, from Nepal, steam distilled from the grass, 100 percent strength.  $15 per 10ml bottle.

Patchouli     Pogostemon cablin
Patchouli plant Patchouli essential oil is a very interesting oil, in that it has many faces. Most people think of its unique fragrance, however, there is a lot more to patchouli than just this. Let's start with its affect on the nervous system, where it is an antidepressant, good for help with stress and anxiety. It is also a super oil for use in skin-care, having wound-healing properties, including scar healing, also astringent and anti-inflammatory. An aspect of patchouli essential oil that is sometimes overlooked is that it has very strong antiseptic and fungicide properties, and with it also being such a mild, gentle oil, I use it a lot in steam inhalation blends for all types of respiratory tract infections. It also happens to be one of the few essential oils that actually improves with age, and I guess I will also have to mention its other property, it is reputed to be an aphrodisiac, but you will have to test that one out for yourself!
Our patchouli oil is wildcrafted, from Indonesia, steam distilled from the leaves, 100 percent strength.  $20 per 10ml bottle.

Peppermint     Mentha piperita
A good healthy peppermint plant Peppermint essential oil is one of the most stimulating of all the oils, it really gives you a lift, and many people carry a bottle around to sniff when feeling tired. Its unique fragrance is unmistakable and uplifting. It is also a very cooling oil, great to apply a drop or two neat on the forehead for a tension headache, but be very careful to keep it well away from the eyes and other mucous membrane areas, as it stings these areas severely. Peppermint essential oil also has very strong antispasmodic and analgesic properties, and is one of the main oils for relieving muscle spasms and pain, and (like most of the herb oils) it also has a strong action on the digestive system, where it is often used for relieving stomach upset or nausea. Alongside its cooling effect, it also has vascoconstrictive properties, ie. it constrincts the blood vessels, which also is associated with it being a tonic for the lymphatic system. I also use it sometimes in a steam inhalation blend to really clear the head and lungs. A word of warning, however, use peppermint oil with caution in the bath, and definitely only when mixed with an emulsifier, otherwise little droplets can float on the water and get into sensitive areas, causing painful burning. Also, peppermint should never be used on children, use spearmint instead (see below).

Our peppermint oil is organic, from the USA, steam distilled from the leaves, 100 percent strength.  $15 per 10ml bottle.
This organic peppermint has a clean, clear, sharp fragrance, with no muddiness.

Pine, Kessia     Pinus kessia
Pine needles Kessia Pine essential oil, is one of a number of different pine species that is distilled into an essential oil. (See below for Scotch Pine.) Like most of the tree needle oils, pine oil has a characteristic odor, and also in common with these other oils (like fir and spruce) it has strong expectorant and antimicrobial properties, so is often used in steam inhalations for respiratory infection. With it also being a tonic to the lungs, nervous system and kidneys, as well as being an “uplifting” oil, it is ideally fitted to this role. It is also often used (as also are spruce and fir) as an adrenal stimulant, with a drop or two (diluted in a carrier oil) being applied daily to the area just above the kidneys where the adrenal glands are located. Pine essential oil is also sometimes used to help ease muscular aches and pains, and also rheumatic pain. While pine oil is regarded as being non-irritating to the skin, if the oil becomes oxidised (ie. if it is old) it can be a powerful irritant

Our Kessia Pine oil is certified organic, from Madagascar, steam distilled from the needles, young branches and cones. 100 percent strength.  $25 per 10ml bottle.

Pine, Scotch     Pinus sylvestris
A nice example of pine needles Scotch Pine essential oil, has very similar properties to the Kessia Pine, as described above. They can be interchanged, and it is a matter of personal preference as to which of the pine oils you might prefer. There are also other pine oils availabe, though the Kessia and Scotch and the two mian ones.

Our Scotch Pine oil is certified organic, from Canada, steam distilled from the needles, young branches and cones. 100 percent strength.  $27 per 10ml bottle.

Ravensara     Ravensara aromatica
Ravensara leaves Ravensara essential oil is one of those oils, similar to myrtle, eucalyptus, etc, that is high in cineole, is very strongly antimicrobial and also has strong expectorant properties. Some authorities consider this oil to be the number one oil for treating influenza, for which it can be used in a steam inhalation blend, in footbaths, or 100 percent neat on the skin, as it is safe and relatively mild on the skin. It is also a tonic to the nervous system and a stimulant, which also are very useful properties for a person who is suffering from the flu or a cold. Ravensara is also a very effective oil to use on a cold sore, where a drop can be applied 100 percent neat directly to the sore.

Our ravensara oil is certified organic, from Madagascar, steam distilled from the leaves and twigs. 100 percent strength.  $23 per 10ml bottle.

Rosalina     Melaleuca ericafolia
Rosalina leaves Rosalina essential oil is a fairly new essential oil from Australia, from the same general family as tea tree. While having somewhat similar properties as tea tree, rosalina is very mild, and has a nice fragrance, due to its major constituent being linalool. It's uses include for respiratory infections, and also for skin conditions like acne and rashes. Also, according to Mark Webb, it is a very useful oil for use as a local anaesthetic on insect bites and for toothache. Dr Pénoël is very enthusiastic about rosalina essential oil, he considers it to be a very well-balanced oil, and “an aromatic gift from Australia to the aromatic world”.
Our rosalina oil is therapeutic grade, from Australia, steam distilled from the leaves and twigs. 100 percent strength.  $19 per 10ml bottle.

Rose     Rosa damascena
A beautilful rosa damascena flower. Rose Otto essential oil is well-known as the queen of essential oils, with a fragrance that is so beautiful, that most of the world's supply of this oil is used in the manufacture of top quality expensive perfume. Regarding its therapeutic properties, rose essential oil is, in my opinion, the number one oil for balance, on all levels, including emotional balance and also physical balance, including the nervous system and the female reproductive system. It also has wide application in skin-care. Most of the world's supply of Rose Otto essential oil comes from Turkey, and also from Bulgaria, and this one of ours is from Turkey.
Our Rose Otto is high quality therapeutic grade, from Turkey, steam distilled from the flower petals, 5 percent strength in organic jojoba oil.   $30 per 10ml bottle.
Also remember, when comparing prices, that our rose oil is 5 percent strength, whereas many other rose oils on the market are only 3 percent or 2.5 percent.

Rosemary     Rosmarinus officinalis, ct cineole
Rosemary in flower Rosemary essential oil is a warming, stimulating oil, with the characteristic fragrance of the rosemary herb. Its stimulant properties include its affect on the nervous system and brain, including its traditional use of “rosemary for remembrance”. It is also sometimes used for treating headaches (with other oils like lavender and peppermint). Another common use for rosemary essential oil is for alleviating mucscular aches and pains or rheumatic pains, for which it is classed as possessing analgesic properties. It is also sometimes used in skin-care, and especially in shampoos. However, please be cautious if applying it to the skin, especially in high dosage percentages, as it can be skin irritating in some people.
Our rosemary oil is wildcrafted, from Morocco, steam distilled from the leaves, flowers and twigs of the herb. 100 percent strength.  $19 per 10ml bottle.

Rosewood     Aniba roseodora
Rosewood tree Rosewood essential oil has a unique place in therapeutic aromatherapy in that its chemical constituents are up to 95 percent one ingredient, namely linalool, which is a very mild, soothing alcohol, with strong anti-microbial properties. Rosewood oil is extremely mild on the skin, and can be used on any skin at 100 percent strength. As well as being a strong bug killer, rosewood oil has anti-depressant properties, and is an emollient (skin softener), and a nerve stimulant.
Our rosewood oil is organic, sustainable harvested from Brazil, steam distilled from the wood. 100 percent strength.  $22 per 10ml bottle.

Sandalwood, Australian     Santalum spicatum
A good healthy spearmint plant Australian Sandalwood essential oil has somewhat similar properties to the Indian Sandalwood, but is not an endangered species. This oil has been extensively tested in Australian universities for its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, with excellent results. It is very soothing on the skin, and has been used to good effect in treating many skin conditions, like eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, etc. It is also a mucous membrane tonic, like its Indian cousin.
Our Australian Sandalwood oil is wildcrafted, from Western Australia, steam distilled from the heartwood and rootball, 100 percent strength.  $40 per 10ml bottle.

Spearmint     Mentha spicata
A good healthy spearmint plant Spearmint essential oil had very similar properties to peppermint (see above). It is somewhat less “full on” than peppermint, and for this reason is more suitable for use on children, especially young children, than is peppermint. Its difference in strength to peppermint is mainly because it has much less of the menthol ingredient, and this makes it less aggressive on the skin and a gentler, softer oil than peppermint. It has the same properties as peppermint on the digestive system, and also on the nervous system. in that it is an uplifting oil, with antispasmodic properties. It can also be used for some skin conditions, like acne and dermatitis.
Our spearmint oil is organic, from the USA, steam distilled from the leaves, 100 percent strength.  $16 per 10ml bottle.
This organic spearmint oil has a clean, clear, sharp fragrance, with no muddiness.

Spikenard     Nadostachys jatamansi
Spikenard Spikenard essential oil is another of the ancient, Biblical oils, it was highly prized and very precious in the ancient world. It has a very pungent, earthy, odour, very characteristic and is the ultimate base note, as its pungent odour hangs around for ever. Its properties include that it is very calming, both emotionally and physically, and a single drop goes well in a massage blend. It is a powerful anti-fungal, and is used in treating serious skin conditions, including psoriasis, athlete's foot and other fungal infections, and just about any skin condition. It is very soothing and safe, even on the most sensitive skin, even when applied at 100 percent strength.
Our spikenard oil is wildcrafted, from Nepal, steam distilled from the rhyzome roots. 100 percent strength.  $30 per 10ml bottle.

Spruce, Black     Picea mariana
Spruce needles on the tree Spruce essential oil has similar properties as the other oils made from the needles of trees, fir and pine (see above), and in this regard it is also often used in steam inhalations for respiratory system infections, and as an analgesic for the relief of muscular pain and rheumatic and arthritic pain. However, one of its most important uses is as an stimulant to the adrenal system, for helping the body recover from being in a state of constant stress, where the adrenals become depleted. For this, a drop or two of spruce applied direct on the skin (with or without being blended with other oils like grapefruit, lemon, or eucalyptus, and maybe diluted in a carrier oil to around 25 to 30 percent strength), applied to the area just above the kidneys, once per day in the morning, and I guarantee that if you are suffering from depleted adrenals, you will notice the difference after 3 to 4 days. It is safe to use on the skin at any dilution level, though a very few people may develop a skin sensitivity from repeated use at 100 percent strength.
Our spruce essential oil is wildcrafted, from Canada, steam distilled from the needles and twigs, 100 percent strength.  $18 per 10ml bottle.

Tea Tree     Melaleuca alternafolia
Tea Tree foliage on the organic farm that produces our tea tree oil Tea Tree essential oil is so well-known that most people have some familiarity with its properties, including its very strong antiseptic and antimicrobial action. It is often the oil of first choice for use against any form of bacterial, fungal, or viral infection, including flu, colds, skin infections, head lice, and also internal body infections like candida. It also has immunostimulant properties, in that it stimulates the body's immune system into action. Tea tree essential oil is also often used for its strong antiseptic properties for cleansing wounds of all types, including insect bites and stings, and also burns, and for this type of use it should always be combined with other essential oils that have specific wound-healing properties, like lavender, helichrysum, or chamomile.
Our tea tree oil is certified organic, grown and distilled here in New Zealand, steam distilled from the foliage and twigs, 100 percent strength.  $12 per 10ml bottle.
